Can anyone provide a ZIP package that works for visual text length restrictions on the demo site? - I would like to show this to a customer. Maybe he is interested in a customized solution in the end.

Feel free to contact me in case of questions.

Kind regards

Victor

      Hi Victor Linnemann,

I just created a sample task here https://demo.translate5.net/editor#task/997/1/edit

The example package is from Length Restrictions - based on pixel-count or character-count#Definableparameters

The example package did not work previously, because 2 config values had not been set, that are needed. I changed that (the system configuration can not be changed in demo.translate5.net because it is public and this would be dangerous).

Now the demo package works for import on demo.translate5.net

      Hope that helps.

In daily use in most of the cases it makes sense to develop a custom import filter for the clients import format for pixel length restriction, because usually clients have different limits for different keys within the same file (in most of the cases xml or Excel-based file formats, but others would also work). Of course we would be happy to help you with that.

        Hi Marc Mittag

Now I was able to shorten a segment according to the calculated pixel values from the trans-unit. Thank you very much for fixing the demo! I want to show a screenshot from my try to the customer.

The customer has a very special requirement: The lines associated with a segment can have individual pixel values für max. width, e.g. line1=100;line2=300;line3=200. Would it be possible to implement this as well (using the translate5 namespace)?

        Kind regards

        Victor

        HI Victor Linnemann,

right now this is not possible.

Yet we could extend the current length restriction feature to cover your clients needs.

BTW: In the tomorrows release segment length check will also be part of the AutoQA panel on the left of translate5s editor and in the project overview.
