We would like, that more than one translator can work on a task at the same time.

Currently in translate5 the option of assigning more than one translator or reviewer to the workflow and leave them open is possible but they cannot work simultaneously.

For this option we would like to assign an amount of segments to each translator, this way they can only edit their own segments of the same task. Would this be possible?

To achieve, that multiiple users of the same workflow step can work at the same time on a task,

      • open the task properties
      • ensure, that no users are assigned to the task
      • switch to the properties tab of the task properties window
      • Select the option as shown in the screenshot

What is currently not possible in translate5 is to assign certain segments of a task to certain users and do not allow other users who are also assigned to the same workflow step to edit these segments.

If you want multiple users to edit a task at the same time but want user A to edit segments 1-1000, user B to edit segments 1001 to 2000 etc., you have to tell them to do so but can not restrict this in translate5 at the current stage.

To be able to use this feature of translate5, the

      WebSocket Server for FrontEndMessageBus Plug-In

needs to be installed and activated in translate5 (it part of current translate5 public releases, but not activated by default).

To change the default of "Muliple users" option in the above screenshot, change the configuration "runtimeOptions.import.initialTaskUsageMode" in the configuration of translate5 to "simultaneous".
