translate5 architecture consists of a translate5 core (which itself consists of several modules and libraries) and a plug-in system.

By using the plug-in system, a developer is able to develop functionality for translate5, which has not to be coordinated with the development of the core system. This is essential for community development on a larger Open Source project.

Most new features should be developed as plug-ins.
